Daoist Traditions, College of Chinese Medical Arts, was initially
conceived by Junie Norfleet, Rachel Nowakowski and M. Cissy Majebe
of the Chinese Acupuncture Clinic (CAC). Their goal was to open
a college that focuses on the Classical teaching of Chinese Medicine
from the lineage of Jeffrey Yuen. The Daoist Traditions 4 year
Oriental Medicine program, is currently in Candidacy with the Accreditation
Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. The college graduated
its first class in 2007.
In addition to the standard Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
theory of acupuncture and herbal medicine, the education is rooted
in the study of Classical Chinese Medicine literature and personal
cultivation. This is considered paramount to developing well-rounded,
spiritually attuned practitioners.
All of the practitioners at the CAC are also staff at Daoist Traditions,
serving in various roles from administration to faculty. The CAC
practitioner's commitment to personal and public education creates
an advantage to the quality of care provided. This is felt in
their ability to communicate and in the treatments themselves.
